Hurricane

This hurricane hit New Bedford, Massachusetts pretty hard. Although the harbor had been closed off to the biggest seas, the wind still shrieked and blew out many of the sails of the square rigger "Bounty" (seen in the background) and put a terrible strain on the dock lines of the fishing boats.
In this image, a number of the fishing boats had broken loose and were crashing down upon the neighboring boats, sweeping some of them along as they surged their way down the pier. Our crew, along with the available crews of the fishing boats, had to scramble to secure new docklines to the rogue vessels to prevent further damage.
My camera here was wrapped in a plastic baggy all set about with rubber bands. It nevertheless got a good soaking in the flying salt spray.
